Sunday Fun Day! Trip to the Peoria Zoo!

On a whim we decided to take the boys to the Peoria Zoo this afternoon.

Ethan was all about getting his picture taken....

Until he realized he had to go to the bathroom....NOW!

We even got to feed a giraffe!

Daddy and Brady:-)

And then we got to feed the birds!

Brady loved it right away....

Ethan was a little nervous at first, but once he got the hang of it he had a great time...we practically had to drag him out:-)

"turning my head or smiling make make this bird fly away....so I'm just going to look at you out of the corner of my eyes"

"hey guys....big party last night.....so what if I'm still in my PJs!"

"Happy Birthday to Brady!"

Brady Turns 2....May 26, 2013

Brady’s current obsessions: Bubble Guppies (or “Bubbies” as he likes to call it), his Bia (binky), Juice and Bars (Nutrigrain Bars). He also LOVES the movie Despicable Me and laughs hysterically throughout it.

As soon as he wakes up in the morning he starts yelling “Bia”….”Bia”….then starts “Mamma”….”Mamma”…..”MAMMA”…..then “Da Dee”? Once you get in his room and turn on the light he instantly starts pointing across the room to where we keep his extras binkys yelling “Bia” with a sense of pure desperation. As you walk him over to grab them he giggles with glee at the thought of getting it in his mouth. Once you let him down he will race over to pull his crib out and see if there are anymore lingering on the floor….which usually there is at least one from the night before. He grunts as he “helps” us push the crib out and then (again, with glee) searches the floor for a long lost bia. He is truly obsessed!

Once all of the bias have been found, he races to his bookshelf, pulls as many books off as he can, and then, as he is sitting in a pile of books, starts flipping through them. At some point he yells out for his juice and a “bar” (Nutrigrain Bars). His favorite books are without a doubt the Llama Llama Books, but he also enjoys “No David” (probably because it resonates so much with himJ) and “Dinosaurs Love Underpants”. He’s not much for variation in the book reading department, he has his favorites and he wants to read them over, and over, and over again.

Brady’s favorite food is fruit….he LOVES blueberries (“booberries”) and strawberries….but honestly I don’t think there is any fruit he won’t eat. He loves applesauce out of the squeeze tube and eats pasta (especially macaroni and cheese) and rice with reckless abandonment (full fists in the mouth….using utensils takes way too much time). Dinnertime is interesting with Brady, from the time he walks in the door he is hungry. Ryan and I are insistent that we try to eat dinner as a family every night, and that we all eat the same thing, so from the minute we get home we are scurrying to prepare dinner and usually let Brady have a head start because he can hardly contain his hunger. This results in Brady being finished with his dinner quite a bit before the rest of us….but I’ll take five good minutes of family dinner time over none any dayJ

Brady has just figured out how to jump and he does it constantly….when he is happy, and when is throwing a fit. The other day we could hear the pitter patter of his feet as he ran around the house taking a few steps, then pausing, then a big JUMP! Then a few steps, a pause, and a JUMP! He did this for a while and Ryan and I just sat listening and laughing. The other thing Brady does that is sort of his “trademark” is the way he winds up for something he is about to do. He doesn’t physically wind up, its vocal, and its hilarious. When he’s getting ready to do something, whether it be jump, fall down on the bed (his new favorite thing to do), or scare us, he will say “duh, duh, duh…BOOM” (the BOOM being whatever it is we are building up to). He starts soft and then gets louder. He thinks it’s the funniest thing in the world and hardly makes it to the last “duh” before he’s cracking himself up.

When Brady runs, or gets excited, or really just anytime he is up and moving about, he flaps one of his arms like a chicken….seriously. And when he’s doing it he clearly thinks he’s cool because he has a bit of swagger in his step while he’s flapping away. Ethan only moved one arm when he ran at 2 years old and Brady flaps one arm like a chicken…..oh well, they are unique and that’s why we love them!

Brady’s favorite toys are (well, really anything other than toys)….the vacuum cleaner, the lawn mower, the grocery cart, brooms, and mops. Anything he can push around the house making noise makes him happy. Like father like son!

We love Brady with all of our heart….he is our spunky, somewhat out of control, wet kissing, huge hearted 2 year old and we wouldn’t trade him for the world.
